I am having a hell of a time with this zone trying to vanquish it.
I am a ranger and have run Broadhead Interrupt, Massive condition degen, pet spike and still having a hard time with the grawl ulodytes.
I am usually setting up with two monks, myself and an ele.
I do ok with just one ulodyte in the group but when there are two I just can't get past them. Turns out scourge healing doesn't work against it. I've tried spiking with Meteor Shower with my broadhead and increased speed but can't get one down.
I have the ele set up with rip enchantments which works fine with just one. Any suggestions?

Try some Mesmer skills like Backfire, Diversion, Power Block, etc.

Have now tried taking a mesmer with empathy, backfire, interrupts and ench strips and also taking various forms of SS builds and none of them are working. This is rediculous.
Edit: An holy crap, kiting is one thing, but the amount of endless running these ulodytes do is just stupid.

I was finally able to get it last night. Brought a human dragonslash warrior guildie with rip enchants. I brought condition heavy BHA ranger with a prot and heal monk.
The grawl monks are stupidly stubborn. If you can get one pinned in a corner or between two people you can eventually take one down then the next is easy.
Careful pulling of the Char is very imporatant. There was only one time where there was a mob of 8 that wouldn't split out that we finally got to do it. All in all took nearly 3 hours. What a pain.

I did with Guildies
1 Bonder
1 Warrior/Tank
1 Ranger (SS, cause he wanted title on hes ranger ^__^ )
1 Necro/MM (Splinter weapon + Minions)
Yes Charr Ashens do remove enchants but you could always re-enchant the tank. Just a advice Start from Ruins of Surmia.

It took two days for someone to say "only bring one monk"? Ascalon areas with 4 person parties are much easier with one monk and three dmg dealers.

Distracting Shot, BHA and Melee shutdown = ftw.
BHA 1 and force heros to wand it, get a lucky distracting shot on the others Heal Other and leave the anti-melee to kill off the warriors. Diversion might've made it easier though.... glad i'm not a warrior, chasing monk around couldn't be more tedious.
